Day 01: Phuntsholing – Thimphu

Our team will there to receive you as you enter Bhutan gate. Upon warm greetings, our team will take you to Phuntsholing immigration office to process your permit. After processing your permit, drive to Thimphu with Lunch on the way.Β 

Upon reaching Thimphu, VisitΒ Buddha Dordenma Statue. This massive statue ofΒ Buddha measures in at aΒ height of 51.5 meters, making it one of the largest statues of Buddha in the world. The statueΒ is made of bronze and is gilded in gold. The Buddha Dordenma is located atop a hill inΒ Kuenselphodrang Nature ParkΒ and overlooks the Southern entrance to Thimphu Valley. Followed by a visit toΒ Thimphu Memorial Chorten built in the memory of the third king of Bhutan, Jigme Dorji Wangchuck. It holds paintings and statues which provide a very rare insight into Buddhist Philosophy andΒ a walk around the town. Overnight at Thimphu

Note: The travelers need to reach Phuntsholing the morning hours latest by 10 am to process their permit. The travelers need to bring a copy of voter ID and 2 half size Photograph Β

Day 02: Thimphu – Punakha – ThimphuΒ 

After breakfast, Our team will drive you to Punakha, the ancient capital of Bhutan viaΒ Dochula pass.Β The pass is a popular location among visitors as it offers a stunning 360-degree panoramicΒ view of Bhutanese Himalayan range.Β The view is especially scenic on a clear day with snowcapped mountains forming a majestic backdrop to the tranquility of theΒ 108 Druk Wangyal ChortensΒ gracing the mountain pass. Enroute visitΒ Chimmi Lhakhang.Β The temple is associated with the name of the divine Mad Man LamaΒ Drukpa KinleyΒ and it is famous for its fertility wish grant to childless couples. Then our team will take you for a lunch in one of the top recognized restaurant in Punakha.

After Lunch, Our team will escort you to visitΒ Punakha DzongΒ built in 1637 by Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyel and is situated between Pho Chu (Male River) and Mo Chu (Female River). It was the seat for Government and national assembly during the times of the second king Jigme Dorji Wangchuck. You will see the preserved war materials captured during the battle with Tibetans. Punakha is the winter residence of Je-Khenpo. Our team will then drive you to Thimphu. Overnight at Thimphu.

Day 03: Thimphu – ParoΒ 

After Breakfast, You will embark on a leisurely hour-long walk to the 18 CenturyΒ Wangditse monastery, situated atopΒ Thimphu. From the monastery, you can view the whole Thimphu valley. On your way back from Wangditse,Β stop by theΒ Motithang Takin PreserveΒ to see the Takin, Bhutan’s National Animal. Followed by a visit to Changangkha Lhakhang,Β The fortress-like temple perched on a ridgeΒ above central Thimphu hums with pilgrim activity. It was established in the 12th century on a site chosenΒ by Lama Phajo Drukgom Zhigpo. It is traditionally popular among the parents with newborns. They comeΒ here to get auspicious names for their newborns or blessings for their young children from the protectorΒ deity Tamdrin. You too can get an auspicious name for your children from this temple. AndΒ Folk Heritage Museum,Β for you to see the various materials related toΒ Bhutanese culture and way of life. It exhibits the Bhutanese day to day life in rural Bhutan. Our team will then take you for a lunch.

Afternoon, Drive to Paro with a visit to Tachog Lhakhang enroute. The temple is a popular hotspot for the travelers. To reach the temple, one must cross the bridge built by the popular saint Thang Thong Gyalpo. The temple I known for having a miraculous power of stopping earth quake and flood. Upon arrival in Paro, cross the canti liver bridge and visit Paro Rinpung Dzong, the central Administrative and monastic body of Paro region. The dzong is also a venue for one of the popular festival in Bhutan known as Paro Tshechu.Β  Followed by a walk around the traditional Paro town for you to have last minute shopping and souvenirs bank home. Our team will then take you to your hotel for a rest after tiring day. Overnight at Paro

Day 04: Hike to Paro Taktshang

After breakfast, Drive to Paro from where you will Hike toΒ Taktsang Monastery. The view of Taktsang Monastery builtΒ on a sheer cliff face 900 meters above the valley floor is a spectacular sight. The MonasteryΒ is also an important pilgrim site for the Buddhists. The greatΒ Guru RinpocheΒ is said to haveΒ flown here on the back of a tigress when he brought the teachings of the Buddhist Dharma toΒ Bhutan in the 8th Century. He then mediated in a cave there for three months where theΒ monastery was later built. Refreshments and lunch will be arranged Taktshang Cafeteria.

Afternoon, Drive to Paro with a visit 7thΒ Century Kyichu Lhakhang,Β one of the 108 temples constructed by the Tibetan king Songtsen Gampo to subdue the demon that lay across the Himalayan region. Overnight at Paro

Day 05: Paro – Phuntsholing

After Breakfast, Our team will take you to the Bird Eye view point of the Paro Airport and Paro Dzong for you to take a Picture. Followed by a drive to Phuntsholing with lunch enroute. Upon reaching Kharbandi, Our team will take you to visitΒ Kharbandi GoempaΒ built in byΒ the queen mother Azhi Kezang Choden.

From the Goempa, you one will have aΒ magnificent view of Phuntsholing town adjoining with Indian border. Followed by a visit toΒ Zangto Pelri, the palace of Guru Rinpoche. Our team will then drop you to your hotel and bid farewellΒ  Overnight at Phuntsholing

Day 06: Phuntsholing to Bagdogra

After Breakfast, You will embark on your journey back to Bagdogra depending upon your flight/train schedule. End of tour with beautiful memories.
